Mission/Vision
Mindful of the general economic and social situation in Cameroon which is characterized by generalized poverty and unemployment; mindful of the global digital divide and limited access to ICT equipment and services by the Cameroonian youth; we, the Founding Members agreed to create an association (non-governmental organization) named CAMEROON AID FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT abbreviated (CAMAID) in an atempt to expose the youth to better opportunites.
What does the organization do?
CAMAID in consonance with the aims and objectives of the YES Campaign and a consortium of International Organizations of which it is a member has as its objectives:
a)Using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to provide employment to the marginalized youth; especially the rural girl child;
b)To use the ICT as a means to sensitise, educate and empower the general public on burning issues affecting the youths, such as HIV/AIDS, poverty alleviation, and the promotion of peace.
c)ICT and new Community based Employment and Self Employment opportunities through the acquisition and distribution of Computers and related equipment and peripherals to Schools, Universities, Community Based Organizations, organized youth groups and/or Associations;
d) Developing linkages with youth networks, donor agencies, Voluntary Service Organizations and Foundations to promote unique youth empowerment and employment programs Locally, Regionally and Internationally;
