bullet Mission/Vision

Our organization’s vision is to restore hope, to build confidence and peace, to raise and create awareness and also advocate for the rights of the vulnerable in society. To have a community where hope abounds, peace abounds and confidence abounds too. To have a society where people are taught theirs and rights are realized.

bullet What does the organization do?

· Psychosocial support (HIV/AIDS preventive Counseling and care of people living with the disease; counseling victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence; food counseling, and marriage counseling (adolescents and parents/child relationship).

· Social Support (home visits, support to orphans and other vulnerable groups in the area of food, clothing, schooling needs and vocational training. Establishment of Human rights clubs in schools as a pilot project aimed creating human rights awareness among students, addressing sexual reproductive health issues of the youth with regard to the HIV/AIDS pandemic; and building the culture of leadership in the students.

· Community Mobilisation (involve facilitating dialogue, establishing contacts and working relationships; initiating, encouraging, advising communities to sustainably use their resources; improve self-help capacities (the ability to act) and capabilities (the knowledge to act); enhancing good governance. Our core principles of community mobilisation are dialogue, capacity building, social responsibility, transparency and accountability, sustainability, gender and participation).
· Advocacy and Networking (Sensitization/awareness talks, Lobbying, Collaboration especially with NGOs, CBOs and Government Agencies, Production of Radio and TV Programmes, dramas and fetes, Publication of Child Network newsletter).
· Research and documentation (undertake development -oriented research and publish reports of such research to enable sharing of knowledge on the outcome.
· Training & Capacity Building (this is intended to give skills to communities and vulnerable groups to economically empower themselves and to alleviate poverty. CRIN will partner with relevant government and other agencies to identify commence training and capacity building activities in the areas of micro-enterprise and micro-credit; mass literacy; sustainable poverty alleviation; health care and environmental protection; fishery; poultry; computer; craft and other trades).
· Education
- Promote public education campaigns to eliminate gender discrimination and create an enabling environment for women empowering themselves.
- Disseminate accurate information on laws, regulations, procedures, policies, and available resources to strength the capacity of women’s organizations and to build effective women’s empowerment programmes.
- Exchange information and experiences on women’s empowerment – what works and what does not-across different agencies, ministries and programmes.
- Meet established goals for the eradication of female illiteracy and for girl’s schooling.

- Design and implement support services, such as childcare, to free women’s time and enable them to engage in organizing and awareness raising.
- Transform school curricula; revise textbooks and train teachers to promote gender equality as a basis for girls and women’s empowerment.
- Identify and create spaces in which boys and men will be able to share and exchange their perceptions of and understand the need for girls’ and women’s empowerment.
· Legal Assistance (CRIN partners with other human rights groups like the LAW AID Initiative to render legal assistance to vulnerable people in need.
· Good Governance: (this is aimed at providing the needed civic education of the populace and to engage in advocating for equity, transparency, accountability and probity in the democratic structures at the local, state and national levels)

Youths are empowered to become self reliant and to appreciate their potential. It is also an avenue for youth to share, learn and increase their service to humanity. Youth are involved in every aspect of the organisation’s programes and project, both in community mobilization and participation.
