Mission/Vision
The purpose of the Summer Internship Program is to give college students (undergraduates and graduate students), college graduates, and professionals an opportunity to gain international experience, immerse themselves in another culture and language, and develop many skills necessary for an international career. Participants live with host families and intern with a grassroots development organization in their area of interest. Each intern lives with a different host family and interns with a different organization so that each participant is fully immersed into the culture. Each intern has a host organization supervisor that will help to facilitate his/her experience. In addition, there is a Program Coordinator in each country that handles all orientation and evaluation sessions, all logistics such as transportation, family homestays, internship sites, and all administrative details. The program coordinator also provides on-going support through site visits during the program.
