Satellite is committed to reducing its negative impact on the environment.
As a professional communications agency advising clients on marketing strategy and developing creative campaigns Satellite has the potential to impact indirectly on the environment through our influence on the behaviour of the businesses with which we engage. Therefore, Satellite commits to promoting corporate environmental responsibility as an essential part of business excellence throughout all work we undertake on both projects and retained business.
As an office-based organisation offering marketing services the direct environmental impacts of Satellite’s operations arise from our use of: resources, energy, transport, our choice of products and services, and our disposal of waste. Satellite aims to strive towards continual improvement in our environmental performance in each of the following impact areas:
Stewardship – Satellite will inspire businesses to work towards environmentally sustainable development as a strategic, mainstream business issue.
Resource use - Minimise the use of materials and energy in our day to day operations.
Waste management - Reduce the production of waste in all our activities, and dispose of unavoidable waste with regard to Duty of Care and in a manner which minimises its environmental impact.
Transport - Reduce transport by motor vehicles. Where practical, promote the use of public transport, cycling or walking and minimise the use of private or company vehicles for travelling to work and for business purposes.
Procurement - Consider the environmental performance of companies in our supply chain, and wherever financially viable give preference to products and suppliers with least environmental impact.
To meet these objectives it is imperative that all staff are aware of the potential environmental impacts of their work and are committed to improving Satellites environmental performance. Satellite will provide sufficient training to equip all staff to fulfill their roles with due consideration for the environment.Satellite has signed up and committed to the Mayors Green Procurement Code to promote recycling in the capital.

Satellite is the first communications agency in the UK to be signed up with the Mayor’s Green Procurement Code which means being committed to buying recycled and helping London to become a more sustainable city.
Satellite is a full service communications agency launched in Kings Cross in 2005. It offers advertising, direct marketing and design services with a difference. Founders Iain Patton and Graham Lewis are passionate about and experienced in developing advertising campaigns which focus on Corporate and Social Responsibility, Sustainability and the Ethical/Green Sector. They’re being labelled as champions of ‘Reform Advertising’ as they promote a sustainable agenda in communications. This means producing marketing communications which communicate responsible and ethical business practice. This is not sector specific so their clients range from local government to the private sector and social enterprise.
Traditionally waste awareness, ethical business practice and corporate and social responsibility have been of marginal interest to many businesses especially small to medium sized enterprises. However, legislation will eventually force compliance on businesses to increase sustainability and there is a notable shift in the emergence of the ethical consumer i.e. individuals who will differentiate brands on their ethical stance.
Delivering sustainable marketing means including sustainable development as part of the 7 marketing P’s by including environmental, stakeholder and wider societal considerations into the marketing mix. It also means using sustainable sources of production and materials such as paper from sustainable forests and recycled stocks. And it means communicating the responsible use of goods and services to avoid wastage by utilising existing resources efficiently.
Apart from producing dynamic advertising campaigns Satellites other services include internal communications and PR as well as photography, copywriting, print sourcing and management.
