 Mission/Vision
Our mission is to lead an Advocacy campaign for access to HIV/AIDS information, education and services, especially among under-served youth. Global Youth Partners strives to ensure that policies, programmes, financial and personal investments for young people are a priority in responses to HIV/AIDS prevention efforts locally, nationally.
What does the organization do?
In the Dominican Republic, the campaign is based on the National Law on Youth (49-00) and focuses on strengthening and achieving the share of municipal budgets allocated to 6 Youth Departments in the municipalities of La Vega, Constanza, Jarabacoa, Elias Piña, Jimani and Santo Domingo N.D.; with the goal of increasing investment in youth and HIV prevention activities in these youth departments. To achieve this, the Dominican Republic GYP team is, among other things, engaging with mayors and local council men/women through a series of round tables and other similar events to convince them of the importance of investing in young people and HIV prevention.
Opportunities for Youth
Become involved in capacity building activities related to SRH, HIV/AIDS, Advocacy, youth participation and public policies. Learn and become involved in project management, design and evaluation. Be involved in national and local Advocacy spaces, promoting youth rights in relations to HIV/AIDS prevention.
