 Mission/Vision
To produce and distribute a television program that provides citizens with the skills and capacity to live sustainable, low-impact lifestyles within environmentally healthy and ecologically conscious communities. To accomplish this, this program will focus upon:
- Do it yourself skills and techniques to reduce ones ecological footprint
- Consumer Awareness
- Citizen empowerment and community networking
- Dispelling the negative connotations of environmentalism in Alberta through creating inclusive and supportive environment
We believe that an entertaining and informative program that we will provide could influence Albertans values, daily habits, and consumer preferences. The ultimate effect could include preserving natural resources for future generations use, shifting to efficient technologies and renewable resources within homes and businesses, and stimulating and diversifying the renewable resource and alternative technology economies within Alberta.
What does the organization do?
ACTV is a youth driven media initiative to promote sustainable, low-impact living in envrinmentally healthy communities.
We are a collective of filmmakers, actors, artists, entrepreneurs, musicians, youths, and students.
Our main drive is to produce a reality tv show based out of Edmonton and area to provide citizens with advice, knowledge, and motivation to live sustainably. To do this we highlight local businesses, products, and services that are ecollogically conscious, and a progressive, environmentally frinedly alternative.
We hope that by enouraging forwad thinking, environmentally friendly businesses, products and technologies, that we will encourage others to puchase and produce more of these products- results in a diversifeid, environmentally progressive economy.
We also highlight the work and knowledge of community groups and local experts in the areas of eco-landscaping, waste, energy, transportation, water conservation, food, and fashion.
Our complimetary initiative to the television rogram is the operation of our website- intrACTV. This will provide an online community of resources and ideas to help viewers and citizens expand upon and execute their ideas and actions to live sustainably. The website will also be a great site to network between community groups, ENGO's, and envrionementally progressive businesses.
Opportunities for Youth
We are looking for talented youth to help us develop, produce and market our program. We have oppotunites to:
-Assist in the production or post-production of the show;
-Highlight the work of individual and community environmental projects;
- Promote ACTV within their communities;
-Highlight artists and musicians within our program;
- Maintain website operations;
