 Mission/Vision
EarthTeam's mission is to create a new generation of environmental leaders by introducing into the classroom and community environmental experiences that are so active and engaging that they inspire dedication to a healthy environment. Our commitment is to bring together teens from diverse communities.
What does the organization do?
EarthTeam supports middle and high school teachers and students by partnering with community environmetnal organizations to create curriculum-connected, community-based, teen-appealing environmental programs. We have partnerships with teachers and/or students in over 60 Bay Area schools. Our programs include a shoreline restoration initiative, the Cool Schools Global Warming Campaign, an Asthma and Air Pollution classroom project, student leadership weekends, multimedia programs (including "The Green Screen" TV show), and teacher training and support.
Opportunities for Youth
EarthTeam programs are free for middle and high school students. Opportunities for teens include:
*EarthTeam Restoration Initiative: hands-on shoreline restoration projects
*The Leadership & Environmental Awareness Forum (LEAF)
*The Cool Schools Global Warming Campaign
*Visuals & Voices: A Traveling Eco-Art, Photography & Poetry Contest and Show
*The Green Screen television show, filmed and hosted by teens
*The Green, EarthTeam's online student-created newsletter
*Something is in the Air: An Air Pollution and Asthma Research and Action Project
