As an organisation made by and for young people, we do believe that youth participation key to the community and social development. Young people are not only the leaders in the future, but so many of them already have a decisive role to play within their own community. In realizing their responsibility, young people must be provided the means with which they can affect change. They must also be aware of characteristics and behaviours of 21st-century leadership, such as sensitivity, a sense of social and environmental responsibility, a positive attitude for change, entrepreneurial spirit, moderation skills and, above all things, a sincere belief in peace and justice, and love and happiness.

The goal of this project is to develop the social entrepreneurism among young people from the Metropolitan Area of Recife, Northeast Brazil. Our strategy is to provide a center for where the young social entrepreneurs will have necessary resources (workrooms and meeting rooms, computers connected on the internet, a mailing address). To provide information and training on tools to develop their projects. To develop a strong relationship between the young people and agents of the local, regional and global third sector.

Our main project, the Social Incubator Towards Youth Action, is a project designed to develop a culture of social entrepreneurship among young people, especially those who want to change their own realities and become an agent for change. It takes shape within a structure of necessary resources and gives support to young entrepreneurs to develop their own non-profit and community-based projects. Youth often have few opportunities to play important leadership roles in the governmental and private sectors, and so the third sector (i.e. the organised civil society and all non-profit and non-governmental organisations) is becoming an increasingly important space for youth action, empowerment and development. The Social Incubator will provide young people with the opportunity to promote their ideals and values, to develop their own community-based projects and to address social, cultural and environmental problems. A social incubator can empower young people to assume important roles within their own communities.
