GKC Foundation
Mission/Vision
The vision of GKC Foundation is to: positively affect the lives of the less privileged youth academically and ethically hence, reduce the rate of criminal activities in the society; provide adequate vocational trainings and support whilst reducing the rate of unemployment; and to prepare the youth for economic independence.
At the GKC Foundation, our primary aim is to make poverty a history in our Community and Nation at large.
What does the organization do?
The GKC Foundation is a non-profit organization which is aimed at empowering the youth and assisting the less privileged in the society
GKC Foundation would like to give a voice to young people, particularly the disadvantaged young people, convey a powerful message to young people that their needs and aspirations are important; change the way that local authorities and their partners provide activities and facilities for young people, especially in deprived neighborhoods, increasing the responsiveness of providers to what young people want; improve things to do and places to go in line with what young people want in their neighborhoods; increase the well-being of young people; and provide opportunities for young people to develop their confidence, knowledge, skills and abilities by which way they can gain recognition and accreditation.
At the GKC Foundation, we visit the youth in their various schools/communities, we organize trainings and workshops for them and teach them how to:
1. Be great ambassadors of the nation;
2. Be focus and purpose driven;
3. Be self employed through our "Skills Acquisition Programs";
4. Be the best in their chosen career;
5. Abstain from social vices and juvenile delinquencies e.g. sex, cultism, drugs, peer pressure etc.
6. Protect their human dignity and be men and women of great conviction standing for the truth despite all olds.
7. We raise awareness about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and work towards it.
Opportunities for Youth
GKC Foundation encourage youth Empowerment and participation in workshops, career seminars, skill acquisition programs e.g. knitting, bead making, artwork, painting, cooking etc.
It also provides opportunities for young people to develop their confidence, knowledge, skills and abilities, gaining recognition and accreditation.
GKC Foundation provide assistance and offer necessary fundings for their education especially to the less privileged ones.
