Canada’s World is having a great conversation about our country’s role in the world. We want to get Canadians informed and talking: talking about how they want us to act in the world, and what we have to do to make that happen. We’re having this conversation in person, through eight dialogues with randomly selected participants in every region of the country, and online at www.canadasworld.ca. The outcome of this conversation will depend on what Canadians have to say, so it's up to you to participate and make your voice heard!

Canada’s World is first and foremost about engaging citizens in a dialogue that moves beyond rhetoric, and examines key international policy themes from a basis of common information. Canada’s World aims to inspire Canadians to develop their own vision for Canada's role in the world.
Our specific goals are:
→ Create a broad and inclusive collaborative initiative that involves citizens, organizations, individuals, businesses and institutions active internationally.
→ Engage Canadians who have not traditionally participated in foreign policy initiatives and increase their knowledge of Canadian international policy.
→ Design and deliver a national dialogue process that empowers citizens to deliberate, formulate and advance options for Canadian international policy and is seen as a model for citizen engagement and deliberation on public policy issues.
→ Develop a citizens’ agenda that reflects the historical experiences, values, assets and interests of Canadians.
→ Build the capacity of participants to communicate the citizens’ agenda to government, the media and other international policy actors.

Canada’s World is a three-year citizens’ dialogue focused on advancing a new vision for Canadian international policy, and youth need to be at the heart of this initiative. Not simply because “youth represent the future”, a cliché that is often used to rationalize token youth engagement in “adult” processes, but because youth have substantive contributions to make to this discussion.
To enable youth to participate in this dialogue, Canada's World will be carrying out the following activities:
→ Creating a “How To” Dialogue Guide specifically for youth on hosting their own conversation group.
→ Producing core outreach and communication materials for youth.
→ Building an online youth community at www.canadasworld.ca.
→ Training key young leaders and youth-serving organizations.
→ Identifying opportunities for intergenerational collaboration, including building mentoring opportunities, identifying young professionals to act as key intermediaries between adult organizations and youth, and identifying key organizations for building youth-adult partnerships
