Mission/Vision
Men n' Gender: "To turn the perpetrators of gender based violence into partners against its fight and HIV AIDS by utilizing the young men as a useful window of hope." We believe that in order to have a gender free culture in Zambia and other African countries, we need to reach out to the future husbands and fathers-the young men.
What does the organization do?
It is a coordinating office which is being run by the University Committee on AIDS (UCA) formarly the Vice Chancellor's Standing Committee on AIDS (VCCA). We conduct awareness campaigns in learning institutions starting from primary schools to Universities and colleges. Our main focus in on prevention and positive living. We currently have over 20 active student associations and over 160 trained peer educators
The men n' Gender is a CIDA funded project under the UNZA HIV and AIDS Response Programme and it's focussed on fighting HIV and Gender bias through the involvement of young men. We believe that men have for a long time remained the perpetrators of Gender based violence, hence the need to partner with them.
Opportunities for Youth
Gives a chance to the youths to be part of the trainings and interventions in the learning institutions. Also, because of the good relations that the office enjoys with international universities, youths are given an opportunities to travel into Zambia and out on student exchange programmes.
