Mission/Vision
We believe that:
Ω “All are equal before the law and have the right to equal defense… without any discrimination.” Article 22 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus
Ω Belarus is a European country and as European country must base on issuers of democracy and liberty
Ω Sexual minorities of Belarus must have the same human and social rights as other people
What does the organization do?
Mine goal are:
Ω tolerance education for youth
Ω HIV/AIDS prevention for LGBT youth
Ω HR (human rights) education for sexual minorities
Ω promotion information about LGBT situation in Belarus
Ω monitoring and reporting cases of discrimination based on sexual orientation
What we are doing:
• publication informative materials
• national LGBT web-site www.pride.by
• a creative contest for journalists
• e-newsletter in English http://groups.google.com/group/lgbtbelarus
• monitoring of the media
• educational events (trainings, workshops, conferences)
• monitoring of Belarusian legislation
• providing the LGBT community with legal education and information
• lobbying for the interests of the LGBT community on both national and international levels
Opportunities for Youth
TEMA is democracy based organization and has strong gender balanced structure. Is has two co-presidents (male and female), 6 board members (3 male and 3 female). TEMA is youth organization and all board members are from 16 to 27 y.o. Now day co-presidents of TEMA are Svyatoslav Sementsov (24y.o.) and Tanya Ivanova (27y.o.). Most of members are youth from 15 to 33 y.o.
