BioRegional build practical solutions to enable us to live happy, healthy lives within our fair share of the earth’s resources – we call this One Planet Living.
BioRegional is demonstrating that it is possible to significantly reduce our ecological footprint in areas such as wood products, paper, textiles, food, transport and housing to a sustainable level and maintain a high quality of life.

BioRegional Development Group is an entrepreneurial, independent environmental organisation. We develop award winning, commercially viable products and services which meet more of our everyday needs from local renewable and waste resources, to help enable One Planet living – living within our fair share of the Earth’s resources.
Eco footprinting shows that if everyone in the world consumed as much as the average UK resident we would need 3 planets to support us.
BioRegional is demonstrating that it is possible to significantly reduce our ecological footprint in areas such as wood products, paper, textiles, food, transport and housing to a sustainable level and maintain a high quality of life.
The BioRegional approach is based on:
• local resource availability: using local farmland, woodlands, renewable energy and
waste efficiently to meet more of our needs.
• closing the loop: recycling and reclaiming materials or using waste heat from industry.
• appropriate scale technology: allowing us to use regional resources which reduces transport
and boosts the local economy.
• network production: producing locally with centralised co-ordination and marketing.
• fair trade: moving away from damaging low-value commodities to higher value, environmentally sound products.
• One Planet Living: reducing our ecological footprint to live within a fair share of the Earth's resources.
In all of these ways we can reduce wasteful consumption. Local production and recycling reduces transport, fossil fuel use and CO2 emissions, and naturally encourages resource efficiency.
